Dr. Heath Gilbert joined the practice in 1992. He was born in Dayton where he graduated from Northmont High School. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry.

At Ohio State he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. He served an internship in vision therapy and pediatrics at the State University of New York.

He also works at the Dayton Veterans Administration as an optometric consultant and serves as an associate professor for The Ohio State University College of Optometry and Illinois College of Optometry.

His areas of expertise are low vision, vision therapy, contact lenses, general practice, and the treatment of anterior eye disease.

He is presently a member of the Miami Valley Society of Optometrists, the American Optometric Association, the A.O.A. low vision section, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

He served as president of the Miami Valley Society of Optometrists in 1999-2000. He served as president of the Ohio Optometric Association in 2011. He lives in Washington Township with his wife, Rachel, and their two children.
