Eye Condition Treatment

Eye problems can range from mild to severe, with some being chronic, while others may resolve on their own, never to appear again. The articles below will give you a basic understanding of some of these problems and their implications. The cardinal rule is that you should visit your doctor if your eyes don't look or feel good or you are experiencing problems with your vision.

The following is a short list of common eye conditions we treat, including astigmatism, dry eye syndrome, and presbyopia. For information about cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, please see our eye disease management page.

Astigmatism: This is a common and generally treatable imperfection in the curvature of your eye that causes blurred distance and near vision. It often occurs with nearsightedness or farsightedness, and can usually be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.

Dry Eye Syndrome: A condition in which a person doesn't have enough quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. Symptoms include discomfort, irritation, and sometimes blurred vision. We offer various treatments to provide lasting relief and identify the root cause of your dry eyes.

Presbyopia: This is the gradual loss of your eyes' ability to focus on nearby objects. It's a natural, often annoying part of aging. Presbyopia usually becomes noticeable in your early to mid-40s and continues to worsen until around age 65. It can be corrected with reading glasses, bifocals, multifocal contact lenses, or surgery.

Please book an appointment with our practice if you have any concerns.

  • Dry eye syndrome (DES) is a chronic condition that develops when your eyes do not produce and maintain enough tears to keep the eye’s surface lubricated.
